For those of you that missed yesterday’s free Skirts’ Academy presentation, Thriving in Business and Surviving the Holiday Season, you are in luck. The webinar was recorded and well worth the 50 minutes I spent listening to Leah Turner’s tips on how to make the most – both personally and professionally – out of this holiday season.
While many of us dream about closing up shop for the holidays, the reality is that it’s not really feasible. At this time of the year, there are gifts to buy, open houses to hold, cookies to bake, contracts to write, parties to attend, business plans to finalize and the list goes on and on. As a life coach, and co-founder of Creating Your Masterpiece, Leah generously shared some of her most powerful coaching tips to help us make better decisions about how to spend our time and enjoy this holiday season.
It all starts with living a ‘proactive’, balanced, life. By learning how to assess where you are in all the main areas of your life, you will understand – very quickly – where your life is out of balance. Concentrating solely on one area of your life typically comes at the sacrifice of other areas. For example, you may be spending all your time focused on money and financial issues (and who isn’t during the holidays), while your health and emotional well-being suffer due to lack of attention. By learning to be proactive – instead of reactive – in all areas of your life, you regain control and become the ‘artist of your life’.
We also learned more about ‘Trashing Tolerations’. Leah introduced us to this concept last July when she wrote a blog post that briefly touched on the subject. During this webinar, she goes deeper into the concept and teaches us how to not only DO IT, but to actually enjoy doing it.
And my third reason for taking some time out of your busy day to listen to this webinar is this…
If you ever, deep in your gut, really just want to say ‘no’ to something or someone – but for one reason or another always end up saying ‘yes’, you really need to listen to Leah. OMG… You will feel like a new woman without the expense of a day at the spa!
Give yourself the gift of 50 minutes well spent. You’ll be glad you did.
